V.I.P.s Start Countdown to BIGBANG MADE in MANILA

20150719_155755

Fans of Korean hiphop group, BIGBANG, has taken SM Megamall by storm with Pulp Live World’s ‘Happy Fiesta’. Philippine V.I.P.’s gathered at the mall’s event center to take their chances of winning tickets to see BIGBANG in the flesh.

Various contests and party games such as trivia quiz, bring me, etc., were prepared by Pulp Live World to give everyone a fair chance of winning. They also prepared fun and original games like ‘Nagmamakaawa Game’ where participants were asked why they deserve to win a ticket to BIGBANG Made Tour in Manila. They also played a game inspired by the trending mobile app, Dubsmash. I also enjoyed the VIPs invitation to the concert – Pabebe style.

Another highlight of Happy Fiesta is the grand finals of the sing and dance cover contests. I am glad and privileged to witness the cover contestants showcase their talents for the love of their idols. All of them did wonderful. They totally impressed me with their choreography and vocal arrangements that inspired me to sing and dance to the music of BIGBANG – Bang Bang Bang to be specific. (Shout out to WILDCARDS! Congrats for placing 3rd in the dance cover contest! You guys deserve to gain something from this event. ㅋㅋㅋ ㅅ.ㅅ)

I also have waited long to see the performance of Eat Bulaga’s My Foreignay Dance Diva, Dasuri Choi. They danced to BIGBANG’s songs while letting the fans practice their fanchants. I honestly would just watch Dasuri perform than practice fanchants. Why? Because she’s damn hot. LOL. But seriously, instead of hearing wild fanchants, I saw a lot of people getting Dasuri fancams. REALLY.

Happy Fiesta is a traditional event especially held for kpop concerts. In this event, the fans and producers start the countdown to the D-day by giving away prizes such as concert official merchandise, posters and tickets to the concert. As far as I remember, the tradition was first held during the promotions of the first Dream Kpop Fantasy Concert.

Tickets are still available! Call Pulp Headquarters or SM Tickets for more inquiries.

BIGBANG Made Tour in Manila is brought to you by YG Entertainment, Pulp Live World, Globe, Korea Tourism Organization and BIGBANGPH.

Celebrating Childhood at Yexel’s Toy Museum

Holiday well spent with the kids…. at heart.

Visited Yexel’s Toy Museum at the Manila Ocean Park. I’ve expected to get some bad shots earlier because the cameras are not good. We used my phone and a digicam! Next time, I’ll make sure to bring a decent one (more ipon for me tho)!

There are so many long lines to fall in, but there is only a little to see. I bet the one in Las Pinas is better than the Manila Ocean Park branch.

See my fun experience at Yexel’s Toy Museum.

Notes:
1. Entrance fee is P300*. We took advantage of the Metrodeal sale, so it was not so expensive on our part. No other entrance fees should be charged to you. You can enter the museum without paying for the entrance fee of Manila Ocean Park.

2. Advisable time to visit is one hour before closing. This is the time that there are less people inside the museum (yay for shorter waiting time to take pictures). Please take note that tickets are sold only until 5pm. You can go there as early as 10am (for holidays, 9am) and enjoy the parks amenities that you can enter for free before you enter Yexel’s.

3. Bring a decent camera. Most of the areas/sets have low-light. DSLRs are okay, as long as you know how to use them.

4. Keep in mind that you are not the only person in the museum. Fall in line properly and take at least 1-2 minutes max to take your photos. If you’re going with a group, 3 minutes is good. You can fall in line again if you want to take more photos.

5. If you’re going alone, you can ask for the friendly assistants in the museum to take your photo. They do offer taking your picture for free, but if you want to take a picture with Iron Man sitting next to you, well, you have to pay. Remember to say thank you to the assistant after he/she has taken your photo.

6. Be mindful of your belongings.

7. Enjoy.

E X T R A

Prior to our visit, I didn’t know that I don’t have to pay for the Manila Ocean Park entrance fee. To confirm, I tried to call Manila Ocean Park through their hotline posted on their website. I am disappointed with the fact that I wasn’t able to speak with anyone from Manila Ocean Park. Either all the operators are busy, or no one’s picking up the phone (with local number).

I am hoping that Manila Ocean Park can do something about this. Some people do use landlines, okay?

End of extra.

밥 – The Essential

As for the first entry of this blog, I would like to share about the staple food of Korea, 밥 (bap, rice).

First off, I’d share to you a poem 밥. This poem is by Chun Yang Hee (천양희). I saw it first on tVN’s drama, Let’s Eat! (식샤를 합시다). Yang Hee used rice as a metaphor of life. For me, the last line totally nailed it.

천양희

외로워서 밥을 많이먹는다던너에게
To you, who eats because of the loneliness

권태로워서 잠을 많이잔다던 너에거
To you, who sleeps because of the weariness

슬퍼서 많이 운다던 너에게 나는 쓴다
To you, who cries because of the sadness, I write

궁지에 몰린 마음을 밥처럼 씹어라
Consume a difficult situation as you would your rice

어차피 삶은 네가 소화해야할것이니까
As you will have to overcome/swallow both.

Like rice, I would like this blog to be a staple blog for you. May this blog be your companion when  you are happy, lonely, weary or sad.

Let’s cook life the way we want!
